Huntdown: Sam's favorite modern 2D side scroller
Huntdown Trailer Trailer
What's special about it?
Huntdown is a must play game for anyone familiar with, or that grew up playing 2D side scrollers in the 80's and 90's. This game is a master class in indie development. Everything
about this game encapsulates the love of video games. This game was created by a dev team of 5 passionate gamers. If you play this game all the way through, you can see and experience
the blood sweat and tears these guys put into this game. Hell, just the trailer alone shows you how amazing their concept for this game is.
This game embodies the action films of the 70's, 80's and 90's. It uses gangs similar to the movie The Warriors (If you have not seen this movie, please do yourself a favor and watch it,
it is great). It also utilizes the usual action movie tropes. Then, takes it all, throws it all into a giant blender, and you get the smooth silky game that is Huntdown. The levels are well
thought out. The hard mode is extremely challenging but fair. It took me back to those rage inducing side scrollers of the 80's and 90's, and helped me revisit my PTSD of arcades
and all the money I wasted in them (Yes, I would do it all over again, I have no regrets).
The story, gameplay, art, creativity, and music all stand out to make a complete package. It even has local and online co-op. This game is worth every single penny. If you are like me,
and sick and tired of buying unfinished games for $60-70 a pop, look no further than Huntdown. Seriously, this is easily in my top 10 favorite games of all time. It is that good. I promise you;
you will not regret it if you choose to give it a try. Its developers like these you want to support because they understand the purpose of a game is fun.
